Apex Mornings

Tucked in up the hill again. This is the view from our ski place. Over the years i’ve drawn it, painted it, carved it into linoleum and printed it. I’ve depicted it in full, sun covered in snow, at night with the hill lit up for night skiing, all of the above. Familiar ground. I't’s my nest and my sanctuary and I love it.

The plan at the mo is to nestle in here for the month of December. Maybe I'll even dig out my ski gear and hit the slopes. I grew up ski racing and teaching, but truth be told my favourite sport up here now is slow cooker dinner party. We’ll stay for the festivities on New Year’s Eve, then pack and head off to Ft. Lauderdale to begin our adventure.

I’m learning more and more about Procreate with each of these sketches. All the same principles apply as working with watercolour on paper, but I can Control Z and reposition on the paper. I love that. Here’s a quick time-lapse for anyone who’s working with this, to see a little more of the process

Thanks so much for reading, and don’t forget to sign up for updates to follow along on the adventure!
