Sofa Surfing at the North Shore Art Crawl

I'm on my sofa surfing tour; spreading the love as I visit friends and get stuff done in Vancouver. Currently at my buddy Danyne's as she's participating in the North Shore Art Crawl. My friends Sheree and Maureen are also taking part. So many great artists in the area, and I love these events to see what's going on and what people are doing.

Mornings I sit at the breakfast bar while Danyne feeds me coffee, smoothies and quinoa with fruit. Planned to stay one night, but based on all that I've now been here three. We sit, chat, contemplate life and this awesome view of hers from the North Shore to Vancouver.

I'll pick up the kids and head back up the hill from here. There's another major Art Crawl coming up in November; the East Side Culture Crawl. Hopefully I'll be in town for that too. There are a few unknowns in the near future, but the big picture remains the same; visit friends and family, get stuff done, and then in January off to travel the world and teach art onboard the Onward. Fun times.

Here’s a timelapse of this digital painting. I really got into the weeds doing the roof tiles. The trees were a good opportunity to be a bit more playful. I love the little peek a boo hole in the greenery where you can see the street below. Can you spot it?

Thanks so much for reading, and don’t forget to sign up for updates to follow along on the adventure!
