Snow Boots

There's a dusting of snow on the hill, no problem for Ford and me, especially with these sweet little boots I stopped and bought on the way up.

I'm really enjoying getting to know this procreate program. The fur edge was fun to paint. It's easy to look at it and think it's just an app that makes your photos look like artwork, but these are paintings, made brushstroke by brushstroke, pencil line by pencil line. Just happens to be an Apple Pencil and a downloaded digital brush. I'm getting the hang of it.

Up here on the hill, life kind of floats by. I'm learning "I Don't Want To Talk About It" by Everything But the Girl on my guitar, binge watching Ted Lasso episodes, cooking real meals for one since there are no restaurants or delivery services, and thinking about life. We've had this place for years, It's always been our retreat. We spend time here with the kids, my family, each other. We were stuck here for the first big covid shut down, unable to get home. It wasn't awful. I really like tucking in here. Alone is a bit different, but it's temporary. I have a big lineup of stops coming up. Kelowna, Vancouver, Seattle, the Sunshine Coast. I feel like a bar musician heading out for a string of gigs. So, like Ford, I'll be here until my battery is boosted, then we'll hit the road.

Thanks so much for reading, and don’t forget to sign up for updates to follow along on the adventure!
